I was diagnosed with MS in 2019 and started injectable treatment for a year. Because I was badly affected by the side effects, I started looking for another specialist, came across Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan’s videos on the social media of the ‘Yol Arkadaşı MS’ community and got in touch with him.
What a patient needs most is trust and to feel well, and that is exactly what I found with Dr. Emin. Following his information and guidance, my medication was changed. Since 2020
I have been a patient of Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan and I am so glad to continue this journey with him. I have a doctor who is an expert in his field, guiding, constructive and who makes things easier for his patients. I strongly recommend friends with similar conditions to contact Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan. On this difficult road, my greatest support is Dr. Emin.
I found Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan in 2022 through my own research online, and also came across his work on MS.
There was a suspicion of this disease, but Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan told me I did not have it and that check-ups over the years would be better. I went to see him again in 2025,
In 2022, because I was very pleased with his care. A doctor who cares about his patients and values them as people.
I can say I saw the highest level of attention, interest, courtesy, professional experience and willingness to help.
In short, there is nothing negative I can say. I can wholeheartedly recommend Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan to everyone.
I am an MS patient. My condition has been followed by Prof. Dr. Emin Özcan for 5 years. I met him in 2020, after my second relapse, through the research and referral of doctors around us.
My treatment continues under his supervision and with his knowledge. I am under regular follow-up and check-ups. Until I met him, I did not really know what MS was or what it meant to be an MS patient. Throughout this process he always welcomed me with his knowledge, experience and warm smile.
My first two relapses came one after another within a very short time, but it has been about 3 years since my last relapse. I truly believe I recovered thanks to his guidance.
I know how hard it is to live with MS; thanks to doctors like him, even difficult times become easier.

Frequently asked
Frequently Asked Questions
Which diseases does neurology deal with?
Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Headache, migraine, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, dementia, forgetfulness, stroke and various nervous system disorders all fall within neurology.
When should I see a neurologist?
A neurological evaluation may be needed for frequent or severe headaches, fainting, seizures, forgetfulness, balance problems, numbness in the hands or feet, weakness, tremor or slowness of movement.
What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease that occurs when the immune system attacks the central nervous system. Early diagnosis and regular follow-up play an important role in managing the disease.
Can migraine be treated?
Although migraine cannot be completely eliminated, the frequency and severity of attacks can be significantly reduced with appropriate treatment and lifestyle changes.
Does forgetfulness always mean Alzheimer’s disease?
No. Forgetfulness can have many different causes, such as stress, sleep disorders, vitamin deficiencies, depression and various neurological diseases. That is why a detailed evaluation is important.
Can people with epilepsy lead a normal life?
With appropriate treatment and regular follow-up, most people with epilepsy can continue their daily life, education and work normally.
What is done at the first consultation?
At the first visit a detailed medical history is taken, a neurological examination is performed and, if needed, imaging or laboratory tests are planned. The aim is to reach an accurate diagnosis and decide on the right treatment.
Evaluations
Treatments and Evaluations
Neuropsychological Follow-up
Memory, attention and other cognitive functions are assessed and followed regularly. This plays an important role in monitoring forgetfulness, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive effects after stroke.
MRI Evaluation
Neurological review of brain and spinal cord MRI scans helps plan diagnosis and follow-up correctly.
EEG (Electroencephalography) Evaluation
EEG (electroencephalography) recordings, evaluated together with neurological findings, support the diagnosis and follow-up of epilepsy, seizure disorders and other conditions affecting brain function.
Dizziness Evaluation
Dizziness and balance complaints are evaluated neurologically to identify the underlying cause and create an appropriate treatment plan.
Alzheimer’s Follow-up
The diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of Alzheimer’s disease are evaluated regularly. Changes in cognitive function are monitored to track the course of the disease and the effectiveness of treatment.
Video EEG Evaluation
Video EEG recordings help evaluate seizures and epilepsy-related findings in detail. Reviewing recordings together with clinical findings plays an important role in diagnosis and treatment planning.
